I liked the jeopardy game we made. I think I would use it in my classroom. I used different books that I would like to teach as the catagories and used basic content information for the q/a. I think I would like to use it compare and contrast authors and genreas. I think that students would find playing the game much more fun than typical review methods. I think I may try having students create their own game to share with the class.

Podcast

I was surprised to think of so many different uses for podcasting in a classroom setting. I think there are so many options made available to students and teachers by using podcasts. I like the idea of students being able to review lessons by listening to the podcasts. I think that in a special ed classroom this would be valuable. Some students are auditory learners, this will give them a chance review information in the way that will best serve them. I hope to get quicker at making podcasts.

I would like to teach a secondary English class that would read Farewell to Arms. In this class, I would use podcasts titled FDR.firesidechat.MP3 and FDR.firesidechatpart2.mp3. I would use the first podcast to give students an idea what the culture of the time was like. The second podcast I would use to help explain the patriotism of the time. This would help students understand why Hemingway's style was so unique for the time.

I cannot believe that I was able to create the book and the calender. I like the way we were just encouraged to "try it." I have always been scared that I would break or erase something forever. Therefore, I was never willing to just try it. I am the kind of person who will read the instructions and the books and then decided if I think I can do it. This is a new experience for me. I have decided that I have to become more "tech smart" because my 7-year-old just asked if she could have her own facebook page. Before this class, I'm not sure I really knew what the hell facebook was!
